Written by 海角视频 professor Laura Wibberding and produced in collaboration with the college鈥檚 History Department and 海角视频 Preparatory School, the play tells the story of early Anabaptist leaders. Their role in the reformation was arguably more impactful to the heritage of the Seventh-day Adventist Church than even Martin Luther himself.In the early 1500s, two Protestant Christian movements were sweeping across Europe. The Magisterial Reformation, with leaders like Luther in Germany and Ulrich Zwingli in Switzerland, was supported by rulers鈥攃ivil magistrates鈥攚ho enforced conformity to the faith.At the same time, the Radical Reformation also opposed the Catholic Church but firmly eschewed state support. The most well-known group was the Anabaptists, who held that Christianity was a personal decision. That conviction was signified by the 鈥渂eliever鈥檚 baptism,鈥� contrary to the christening ceremony of infants.The play features a conversation between Menno Simons, a former Catholic priest who became a prominent Anabaptist leader, and a young female character named Rachel. Mary Johnson鈥檚 first international mission trip to Mexico led her to change her major 鈥� and marked a turning point in her life. During spring break of her freshman year at 海角视频, Mary and the Korean Club partnered with Maranatha Volunteers International to help build a church in Guam煤chil, Sinaloa, in Northwestern Mexico. She said she had several 鈥渞eal conversations鈥� with local residents about how wonderful it is to work for God and decided to switch her major from liberal studies to Spanish. Online programs for Master of Business Administration degrees have surged in popularity in recent years and even surpassed campus-based ones. Coastal redwoods, ponderosa pines, and Douglas firs reign over the majesty of 海角视频 Forest. Its lush woods are home to native plants and an abundance of wildlife. PUC Forest boasts more than 1,100 acres and features more than 35 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. Its beauty is treasured and enjoyed by both the college and the larger community. But like other areas of California, the forest is vulnerable to wildfires due to dense overgrowth and drought. The exceptional nursing program at 海角视频 is being rewarded with an increase in student enrollment. PUC recently received high praise and an additional 5-year approval on its accreditation from the Board of Registered Nursing. That recognition has also allowed the college to welcome more nursing students.Following this exciting news PUC鈥檚 nursing program then received a sizable donation of $200,000. Angwin Community Ambulance, a former local nonprofit organization, made the contribution, in large part because of its heartfelt connection with the college.
