PUC Offering New Scholarship to Students with Highest Financial Needs

PUC is now offering a full-tuition, four-year scholarship鈥擳he Pioneer Promise鈥攖o students with excellent character, strong academic achievement, and high financial need鈥攆urthering the college鈥檚 commitment to ensuring all aspiring students have the opportunity to receive a quality, Christian education.

鈥淎dventism has a rich tradition of providing high quality education, which allows significant generational improvement,鈥 said Gene Edelbach, PUC vice president for enrollment, marketing & communication. 鈥淲ith Pioneer Promise, every Adventist student or student wanting an Adventist education鈥攚ho have financial need, reasonable academic ability, and good character鈥攃ould now be guaranteed a bachelor鈥檚 degree or higher at 海角视频.鈥

While many people might be passionate students with a desire for higher education, the reality of affording college may be unimaginable and unattainable鈥攖he Pioneer Promise Scholarship was created with those students in mind; to remove financial and socioeconomic status barriers from an educational path that previously was completely blocked.

This scholarship is open to on-campus freshman and transfer students. Eligible students will need to be enrolled full-time and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

PUC is committed to supporting students seeking an affordable college education through a range of financial support, including several new innovative scholarships鈥攖he Science and Math Enhancement Scholarship, STEM Scholarship, and Musical Excellence Scholarship. These scholarships can reduce financial burden, giving students more opportunity to focus on their studies and personal growth.

The Science and Math Enhancement Scholarship offers $1,000 to any high school student who completes biology, Algebra II, and at least two of the following courses鈥攃hemistry, physics, pre-calculus, or calculus.

Students aspiring to pursue a STEM major and a distinctive college experience through PUC鈥檚 School of Sciences may be eligible to receive a renewable $5,000 STEM Scholarship.

The Musical Excellence Scholarship is a $5,000, renewable award available to incoming freshman and transfer students enrolled in two qualifying ensembles and committed to membership every quarter they are in residency. These students must continue demonstrating their talent, qualifying as first chair or section leader.
